Allianz UserCA
Allianz UserCA (CA4) is a Sub-CA of Allianz Group Root CA II and the successor to the defunct Allianz Dresdner CA (CA3).
Its object is to issue dual-purpose software certicates (user-authentication and secure email) for employess and external staff.
(The dual-purpose solution is planned to be replaced by a 2-certificate solution still in 2009).
Allianz UserCA software certificates can be enrolled from within Allianz Corporate Network and AWIN Network.
They are published to Allianz Group Directory to the sub-trees appropriate for client-authentication and secure e-mail.
Certificates issued by Allianz UserCA are used for the following purposes
- secure e-mail (S/MIME e-mail encryption and signing)
(only Allianz UserCA can be used for this purpose within Allianz Group!)
- user authentication within Intranet (IND/GIN etc.)
(for this purpose Allianz UserCA is second in line to Allianz Smartcard CA.
-
users in possession of SSO-cards (major German OEs) should authenticate with SmartCards.
- others
can use Allianz UserCA software tokens
